When we cast stones in a container filled with water, it is easy to separate the two substances picking with your hand. When the particles are too small, you may need a strainer, but sometimes particles are not suspended, but dissolved. In the video below we explain how to separate the original substances in the latter case:

In the video, Fran dissolves a few lentils of sodium hydroxide in water. Then Juan transfers the solution into a test tube, a container more manageable, and warms it up. After a while, we see that the water has evaporated, leaving a residue of sodium hydroxide, with the same composition as the original (NaOH).
